Once again one of those absolutely fantastic flying days - I met Stephen at Hanger 91 in Caboolture around 08h30. I was delighted to find Graham, Derek and some other trike pilots also getting ready. We flew a blissfull trip to Kingaroy, where we were served (steak, snags and burgers). We chatted amongst all and really enjoyed seeing so many aircraft there. The highlight would have been the homebuilt JET. As they got going, the starter motor burnt out and that was unfortunately it. I really liked the painting on the side of the tail plane and could not resist using it on our page today
I am being told that this homebuilt is the first JET powered homebuilt in the world and never has anyone attempted a project like this - I saw it fly on channel 7 news the other day and the camera in the cockpit showed a spin to the left and then when the pilot corrected, it spun again to the right - both spins unintentional and so the pilot had a hasty landing.
Anyway, we had such a good day - I decided to print a gallery of some of the pictures, instead of writing a story - hope you also enjoy them - next trip I would really like to get more of the ultralights and trikes - they arrived very late today and hence we did not catch up enough - definitely more next time - maybe we'll see you at Heckfield?
