With De-registration, packing and payment, N118T left Wisconsin early October 2006 on a truck bound for LA, California. Enter the Wittman Tailwind, designed in 1953
- One afternoon I was sitting at Pommie-John's bench, taking fodies and admiring the afternoon when is saw ...what??? VH-WAT, a boxy little airplane with far too short wings and a very short tail, allmost no rudder and ugly small little windows, taxing out to runway 12 at Caboolture airfield. VHWAT on earth was this, I wondered??........ |

Some of the folks at the Jacobs Well Fly-in (thanks to George Perez)
- On the Saturday morning of the fly-in the heavens opened with a lot of rain, copupled with a loud cloud base. A few aircraft flew in, but most waited till Sunday. Those that drove there had a chance to meet with local fliers and have a look at the various aircraft on the airfield. On Saturday evening a dinner was held with eighty people in attendance for food and music. A sausage sizzle was opertaing during the day with thehelp from Mr. Whippy and the crew from Jacobs Well.... |

Heckfield fly-inn - Manuello, the die-hard never give Up
- If Manuello says he is going to be there then he will - in fareness to us all, the weather was grim for the entire week-end to say the least. I met with Romano, Rick and Len at the hangers on Saturday morning, really finding it hard to accept that we were, not going anywhere that day. We had some coffee, re-fuelled and once the flying school parked their aircraft, I finally had to agree............ |

KINGAROY - Fly-inn with SAOG & Whings & Wheels Caboolture
- Once again one of those absolutely fantastic flying days - I met Stephen at Hanger 91 in Caboolture around 08h30. I was delighted to find Graham, Derek and some other trike pilots also getting ready. We flew a blissfull trip to Kingaroy, where we were served (steak, snags and burgers). We chatted amongst all and really enjoyed seeing so many aircraft there. The highlight would have been the homebuilt JET. As they got going, the starter motor burnt out and that was unfortunately it. I really liked the painting on the side of the tail plane and could not resist using it on our page today......... PS - Added Some pics of the Wings and Wheels, Caboolture as well. |

| NATFLY 2006 - Manualleo from Barcelona, Romano from Columbia and Pedro from Gwartallamarta - two Jabiru and my PA28-160. We met at Caboolture Airfield at 07h00, Friday the 14th April 2006 for the start of our unforgetable trip from Caboolture to Natfly 2006. The little Cherokee was loaded to 996 Kg, a mere mortal 2 Kg under it's all up maximum weight. We had a 22kg cooler bag, a gas-weber and a 9kg gas bottle in the boot, our two man tent, 2 camping chairs, 2 suitcases of clothes, a fold-up table............... | ||

| My first Aussie Plane - I could not help feeling extremely excited when I arrived at Cairns to check-out my prospective new purchase. A Cherokee 160hp made in 1962. I always wanted a 180, but could not resist the thought of having a fully overhauled engine in my next plane. So, a couple of hours later and the deal was done. I went to Cairns armed with my notebook, lists of things to check for, a sheer determination of not buying a dud, and rows and rows of questions to ask the LAME. But, you know what? .......... | ||
